Privacy policy

Vytae is an iOS app that turns a job offer into a tailored CV, a cover letter, a compatibility score and interview preparation. This policy explains what data that involves, where it goes, and what we do not do with it. It covers both the app and this website.

The short version

• There is no account. We do not know who you are.
• Your CV, your profile and your saved applications are stored on your iPhone, not on our servers.
• When you ask Vytae to write something, the relevant text is sent to an AI provider over an encrypted connection, used to produce that one result, and not retained by us.
• Your data is never sold, never used for advertising, and never used to train AI models.
• Deleting the app deletes everything it holds.

What is stored on your device

Everything you create in Vytae lives in the app's own storage on your iPhone: the CV you imported, the structured profile built from it, every job offer you have saved, and every CV, cover letter, score and quiz generated from them. None of it is uploaded for storage, and we have no way to read it.

Because this data is local, it is covered by your device backup. If you back your iPhone up to iCloud or a computer, your Vytae content is included in that backup, under Apple's terms rather than ours.

What is sent off your device, and when

Generation requires a model that does not run on a phone. At the moment you ask for a CV, a cover letter, a compatibility score or an interview quiz — and only at that moment — the following is sent to our server and on to our AI provider:

• The profile built from your CV, or the relevant part of it
• The text of the job offer you are applying to
• Your settings for that request, such as tone, length and language

The connection is encrypted in transit. The request is processed, the result is returned to your phone, and the input is not written to a database on our side. Our AI provider is Google, acting as a processor under terms that prohibit using the content to train their models.

When you import a job offer by sharing a page into Vytae, the page content is read on your device and the extracted text travels with the request above. We do not receive your browsing history, your cookies, or anything you were signed into.

Purchases

Subscriptions and the Pro pack are sold through the App Store. Apple handles the payment and tells us only whether an anonymous installation has an active entitlement and when it expires — never your name, your email, or your payment details. We use that to meter how many generations an installation has left.

Diagnostics

Our servers keep short-lived operational logs — the kind any web service produces — recording that a request happened, whether it succeeded, and how long it took. These are used to find faults and to stop abuse, and they are not used to build a profile of anyone.

This website

This site has no analytics, no tracking pixels, no advertising network, no third-party fonts and no CDN-loaded scripts. It sets exactly one cookie, and only in the administration area used to publish articles — no cookie is set for ordinary visitors, which is why you were not asked to accept any.

Your browser preference for light or dark mode is kept in your browser's own local storage. It never reaches us.

Your rights

Because we hold no account and no copy of your content, most data requests resolve on your own device: deleting the app erases everything it stored. If you believe we hold something about you and want it removed, or if you have a question about this policy, write to [email protected].

If you are in the EU or the UK, you have rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability and objection under the GDPR. The same address reaches us for those requests.

Children

Vytae is intended for people looking for work and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from them.

Changes

If this policy changes in a way that affects what we do with your data, the date at the top of this page changes with it, and the revised policy is published here before it takes effect.
